Review:Despicable Me 2

Did we really need a sequel to Despicable Me?
Probably not. Nevertheless, Despicable Me 2 is here. No point in going into story details. I never do. If you 've read any of my reviews, you know why.
Is Despicable Me 2 any good? In my humble opinion, yes. It's as entertaining as the first one. But there is a major problem. The antagonist, El Macho is forgettable. Now that Gru is the good guy, the story needs a good villain, which this movie does not contain.
Despicable Me 2 is saved by two things:1) Despicable Me 2 is basically a love story and works well enough. 2) It's once again stolen by the lovable minion's. Without theses two elements, the movie would cease to exist. And here's the big thing that I liked about Despicable Me 2. The main character, Gru, actually manages to evolve once again. From lovable single father to full fledged family man.
In a world where father figures are in desperate need, Gru is an example of those fathers who are stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility in leading a successful family unit as depicted in the movie. And that is the big reason I liked Despicable Me 2. Equal to the first one. Now, if the film-makers can find a good foil to match Gru up against for the obvious Despicable Me 3.
  On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Despicable Me 2 a 7.
