MOVIE REVIEW: DEADPOOL 2

First, before I dive into my thoughts on DEADPOOL 2, let me give you a strong word of warning. If you did not see the first DEADPOOL or didn't like the first one, then DO NOT bother with seeing this sequel. There is more foul language and ultraviolence to be found here. If those things are a turn off for you, then let me STRONGLY urge you to stay away. And if you do go, by all means, LEAVE  THE KIDS AT HOME.
DEADPOOL 2 is more of the same stuff that the first film gave us. Lots of potty mouth humor and language and tons of gratuitous violence. It also manages to maintain it's an endearing quality that the first film possed. Ryan Reynolds Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, is a mutant mercenary who cannot die. That is his superpower. If he gets riddled full of bullet holes or gets his neck broken, his body restores itself back to normal, at least normal for Deadpool. There are lots of spoilers that I will avoid getting into here. I can tell you that a Mutant from the future shows up with the goal of killing a mutant teenager. This plotline converges with what is going on in Deadpool's life and before you know it, the merc with a mouth is out to stop the kid from being killed by the time-traveling assassin known as Cable, played by Josh Brolin in another stunning performance. We also are introduced to a new character named Domino, played with lots of energy and sass by newcomer Zazzie Beets (she's new to me).
Let's get to the good and bad that is DEADPOOL 2.
While this second installment manages to maintain it's humor and non-stop action, it also manages to keep an important element of the first film-redeeming social value. Without it, both Deadpool films would not work for me. Part 2 has as much heart and soul as part 1. The film's big problem is that it runs out of steam in the third act. It drags and loses it's focus, becoming a bit tiresome for the viewer. Also, some of the jokes in this one missed the mark in comparison to part 1.
To sum up my thoughts on DEADPOOL 2, I found this second film about Mr.Pool to as endearing as the first one and manages to transfer the first films wit and energy into the sequel, but only to a point. Once it hits the third act, it starts to drag and run out of steam. Maybe it's time for Wade Wilson to stop or go into a new direction for future outings.
  I give DEADPOOL 2 a B.
